The plasma total cholesterol, HDI_cholesterol, LDL_cholesterol, VLDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels from 93 sickle cell anemia patients aged 15 and 30 years were determined. From the control, a total of 96 healthy volunteers with HbAA genotype matched for age and sex were used for the study.
