This study investigated rural youth empowerment and how it affects their participation in rural development projects. It was carried out in Nsukka LGA of Enugu State. Questionnaire and in-depth interview guide was used to collect data from 618 respondents. The data were analysed in frequencies and percentages using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). Three hypotheses were tested using the chi-square (x2). The findings of the study among other things revealed that empowered rural youth participated more in rural development projects than those that are not empowered. It is therefore recommended that effort should be made to empower more rural youth as that will enhance their participation in rural development project.
