Abstract

The family of the university of Nigeria, according to Obiechina, E, et al 91986), coincided with the accession of Nigeria to national independence. Its forty-seven years of existence, have therefore, coincided also with the first 47 years of Nigeria's life as a sovereign state. The university also has the only one named after the country while every other university is named after the town or the state in which it is situated or after a distinguished personality.
