A Comparative Study of the Civilian and Military Constitutions and Governments in Nigeria, 1960 - 1989

Abstract

Since our independence there has been the phenomenon in Nigeria of civilian and military successions in government with the military having a longer period of rule. The object of the thesis is to have a close study of both types of government as to find out the circumstances warranting this peculiar phenomenon, and secondly to find out as to what extent the military can have a place in the future governments of Nigeria.
