Presently, The Benue State Council for Arts and Culture do not have any website since its establishment via Decree No. 11 of 1979. This project’s main objective therefore is to design a website for the Benue State Council for Arts and Culture. It is important to note that the council engages in various activities of Arts and Culture ranging from Graphics, Textiles, Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Music/Dances and cultural festivals, therefore a well designed website will play a major role in showcasing these activities of the Benue State Council for Arts and Culture thereby exposing the cultural heritage to a large group of people within and outside Nigeria who might know little or nothing about the Council. It will also help to promote, preserve, document and present the rich culture of Benue State, which is the mandate of the Council. The website will also help in linking the Arts Council to the wider world thereby bringing about exchange of programs, ideas, and expand knowledge to visitors of the site for scholarly research, entertainment to potential students and others; they also will get first hand information about the Arts Council. Art collectors and art lovers will be able to access the website for various businesses. Finally, the website will also boost business activities for collectors, Art lovers, attract tourists and also generate revenue for the State and Nigeria in general.
