The study utilized both qualitative and quantitative research methods in studying
the coping capacity and associated problems of elderly widows in Nsukka, Enugu State. It utilized a sample of 520 elderly widows drawn from five villages in the three
geographical quarters of the town. The study discovered inter ulia that elderly widows face a lot of problems after the demise of their spouses. It was discovered that a good number of them took to economic activities, which yield them meager income with which to support their families.
