Development & Standardization Of Social Studies Achievement Tests (SSATs) For Junior Secondary Schools In Anambra State.

Abstract

The success of continuous assessment programme in our schools
depends on teachers' use of valid and reliable assessment instru-
ments, The achievement tests which teachers nake and use have been
found to be mostly deficient 4 n some fundamental qualities expected
of good assessment instruments* This study was, therefore, aimed
at developing, validating and standardizing a set of achievement
tests for use in the continuons assessment of studentst cognitive
attainment in Junior Secondary Social Studies, The de2endence of
achievements in Social Studies on Students1 sex, school location,
education zone and their interactions was hypothesized and tested.
