EMPLOYEE PARTICIPATION IN DECISION MAKING: AN IMPORTANT TOOL FOR HIGH PRODUCTIVITY

Abstract

Employee participation in decision making increases workers
feelings of belonging to the organization. This results in
increase commitment which subsequently improves efficiency
and productivity thereby reducing the cost of monitoring
employee (Salamon 2000). In this seminar presentation, the
presenter will discuss the concept of employee participation in
decision making, factors that influence employee participation
in decision making, high productivity and the benefits of
employee participation. Recommendations are also make for
effective use of employee participation in decision making to
enhance high productivity.
