Leadership Styles of Public and Private Primary School Headmasters in Onitsha South Education Zone

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to determine the leadership styles of public and
private primary school headmasters. From the view of related literature, the
researcher formulated four research questions and four hypotheses which guided the
study. The design used in the study was survey, and multi- stratified random
sampling technique was also employed. The major instrument used in data collection
was management style profile. All the headmasters and teachers in Onitsha South
Education Zone formed the population.
The data collected were organized and analysed using frequencies, mean and
standard deviation. t -test analysis was used to test the four hypotheses at 0.05level
of significance.
