The earth is a large volume of space i n which human needs necessitate carving out of spaces within this large space. Man's activities are either inside a space (interior) or outside the space (exterior) . Each of the spaces are defined by vertical and horizontal elements and other natural elements in the space setting. The major aim of man is to manipulate both the vertical and horizontal elements to make the space habitable.
