Law enforcement agency or rather the police force is undoubtedly an indispensable tool in any given society charged with the responsibility of maintaining law and order. Hence, this work is a diligent evaluation or appraisal of the efficiency of the Nigeria police in line with discharging of its constitutional duties. While chapter one is an over view of the course of study, the Nigerian police, powers and duties, chapter two buttressed the code of conduct, objectives and challenges of the Nigeria police force. Equally, chapter three tries to evaluate or appraise the effectiveness or rather the efficiency of the Nigerian police in the present Nigeria society. Finally, chapter four professes a way forward by recommending better ways through which the Nigeria police can positively and effectively accomplish its expectations, responsibilities, and challenges in our given state, Nigeria.
