Residual Strength Analysis of Three Most Commonly Used Fibre Reinforced Laminates Following Fatigue Cycling

By

Abstract

The peculiar behaviour of fibre reinforced plastics under cyclic loading conditions as opposed to metals is recognised and addressed. Consequently, cyclic loading investigations involving 0/90 laminate specimens of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), Kevlar Fibre Reinforced Plastic (KFRP), and Carbon Fibre Reinforced plastic (CFRP) in polyester resin were carried out under similar laboratory loading conditions and safety.
