Crafts being an integral part of Home Economics programmes are geared towards instilling self reliance to the youth, who may on leaving school utilized their knowledge of such c r a f t s t o earn a living . A close study of NCCE minimum standard 1996 shows that crafts is not being thought as a course of its own r a t h e r it is embedded in other Home Economics courses.
