A few years age the term "option for the poor" became
very popular among church people and church gatherings. It
is supposed to conjure the notion that the church is or should
be on the side of the poor everywhere in the world. Whether
the term has its origin from the Bible, or from Marxism or
across of both may not be agreed upon by students. But its
term has initiated a lot of thinking and sometimes action
among christians.
