A retrospective study of I8 consecutive triplet and 2 quadruplet pregnancies managed at the University of Nigeria Teaching hospital (U.N.T.H) Enugu between
January 1987 a Decen1bcr 1996 was done. The prevalence of triplet a d qaudruplet pregnancies was 1.907 anti 1:8162 deliveries respectively. Sevenly two percent of the women were illiterate house wives. One patient each of the triplet and quadruplet groups had a previous history of twin pregnancy
