Abstract

Nigerian, when compared with other countries of Africa,
is very vast, not only in geographical land mass, but also with

and characteristics, ~1m0st all the major and minor ethnic at groups in Nigeria, especially the grassland coastal zones and forest Bone, have diverse kinds of stories or traditions of origin, with various relationships that existed between it and other ethnic group in the past, Analyses by scholars of
Nigerian history and sociology, estimated the number of Nigerian
ethnic groups to be about two hundred and fifty (Nwosu, 1985)*
